Genoa: new St. George Bridge ex Morandi Bridge
The bridge, preliminarily designed by Architect Renzo Piano, was later built by the Consorzio Per Genova based on an Italferr project.
It is characterized by a mixed steel/concrete structure formed by 19 girders resting on 18 reinforced concrete piles with a constant elliptical section.
In order to keep the transversal and longitudinal displacements of the deck-pile supports under control over time, Agisco has created a monitoring system, based on radar sensors, which provides the manager with the displacement values in real time.
